Painting Collaboration Between Korean artist Ryu Ilseon and Joan Kelly

The idea was to create a participatory space for the investigation of western cultural values in contrast to the cultural
values of South Korea and how these are revealed through concepts and strategies of painting.

International Art Workshop Biennale October 2012

This is a workshop Biennale with artists from around the world gathering together to make art to bring notice to the ecology, holistic and sustainable living and the beauty of the land in Jeollabuk-do Korea. Besides three days in the studio together the artists will travel to Dok-do islands over night to sketch. This work will be in a curated exhibition of it¹s own while the studio work will be in a separate exhibition. Joan Kelly is working as part of the curatorial team.

6th International Visual Art Workshop and Exhibition

Poh-Chang Campus, Bangkok

The president of the Rajamangala University of Technology; Assoc. Prof Dr. Issaree Humsacharoonraj, Vice president and Mr. Panom Pornkul and the Thai Arts Council USA have established the International Art Festival and Art Workshop in Thailand.  This is a annual workshop and festival established in 2005.  The workshop festival involves over 100 artists each year.  The participants consist of, The Thai National Artists, Artists of Distiction, Faculties of Poh Chang University, as well as international artist.  The purpose of the workshop is to create an opportunity for artists from all parts of the world to come together for dialogue, discussion and observation of each others' artistic process.  This event is an invaluable opportunity to gain new understandings, exchange ideas.  The uniqueness of this opportunity is the environment.  The artists are making art in proximity of each other in the inspiring setting of the Mae Fah Luang Art and Cultural Park, unrivaled gardens, arboretum, sculpture garden and art museum.  In this inspiring setting visual ideas were shared and exchanged as the artists watched each other in process.  The artists donated their works.
